The building itself as you walked up to it gave you a sense of the standard of art you were expecting to find inside, it gave the impression that a lot of time and hard work had gone into creating this collection of art and the building it has been housed within.
The way the piece was presented to us in a dark room made it seem a lot more foreboding than it wouldve been otherwise making the piece more effective upon the audience.
Insecticide 24 (2008)
I found that this piece was quite captivating as the colours seen through the flames would attract your eye and get you to look at this piece from a different viewpoint.
I found that this piece was too hard to capture as it moved along so quickly but I still feel it is effective but it isnt easily portrayed through a lens you have to see it in person to truly appreciate it
i find that Jacob Epstein's work is very captivating his use of metal in these pieces is both inspiring and insightful.
With this piece I love how the work relates to a really personal event to the artist which got me to relate to it and empathise with the artist
the work of bob and roberta smith bob is interesting as it uses words to have an effect on the audience rather than form or tone like the other artists work on this floor
Overall this art gallery was far more impressive than it appeared to be at first glance and had far more in it than I had originally anticipated. I was quite impressed by the standard and quality of work being shown here and would definitely go again once the next exhibit has been put in.
