A steam punk sculptor
He takes real life animals and re interporates them using scrap metal
This artists work links to my theme as the materials he uses are in some parts rusted like the subjects I have already been working with similar media so it could link to my work
He is well known for his large metal sculpurs of animals
Examples of what he has used bwithin his work are car parts, electrical conduits and sheets of steel
His works on average take between 80-120 hours to make and he has been sculpting for 10n years now
Examples of his work are:
I feel that his work is very literal representation but with the possible inference of how all the beauty and power in the world is shoved behind steel so in a way it makes me feel saddened as it shows the fear of the strong and how we as humans fear what we cannot control and lock it away or put a bullet in it. Whilst also making me feel inspired as I love how well we can see the craftsmanship that has gone into making these and how it is simplistic in its design but still effective
